Prayer

So today at dinner time we were settled down to eat and this cute conversation happened with Caleb.

Mom - We need to pray before we eat kids.

Kids - Okay lets pray.

Mom - Dear Jesus, thank you for this wonderful day and for the food......Amen.

Caleb - Mom you forgot to say, forgive me for my sins!

I thought it was so funny because we have different prayers for our normal prayer times such as meals and bedtime (of course the prayers change or are added to daily) but in his little mind we needed to ask for forgiveness each time we pray. We usually do that part during our bedtime prayers or sometimes when he gets a time out and a change of heart is needed. I did explain to him that although we can ask God for forgiveness anytime we need to, we don't have to pray it during dinner time.
